Shauna Wiest

Hi, I’m Shauna! Thank you for visiting, and I invite you to take a moment to give yourself some well deserved praise on taking the initiative to seek healing! In our work together you will find that I take a nurturing, down to earth, approachable style that will meet you and your child right where you’re at. I take a holistic approach and believe that we not only need to focus on our minds but on our bodies as well in order to organize the nervous system.

I am a Licensed Independent Clinic Social Worker and specialize in working with children, teens, and young adults. I have been working with youth and young adults for the past thirteen years, primarily as a public school social worker and in the non-profit sector working with youth experiencing homelessness. I believe that we are all doing the best we can. Behavior often serves as a means of communication, especially in young people. When we don’t have the skills to express our needs in more effective ways, we act in ways that we think will get our needs met. In our sessions, we will work to build a mind-body connection, heal from trauma or difficult transitions, and organize chaotic nervous systems. In all of us, is the strength to lead fulfilling lives. In our work together, we will actualize the strengths that you and your child already possess so that you and your loved ones can lead healthy, productive and peaceful lives.

Education, Training, License, and Affiliations:

Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (MN #18819)

Bachelor’s in Social Work, Saint Cloud State University

Master of Social Work, Augsburg College
