Gao Chee Vang MSW, Therapist

As a therapist, it is in my belief people come from all walks of life where challenges have created various experiences and perspectives, and sometimes support is needed to strive for increased resiliency. I appreciate working with a diverse group of clients, especially working with the St. Paul Hmong community, where I am from; I am bilingual, fluent in both English and Hmong. I believe in an integrative and holistic approach that allows clients and communities to achieve healing and harmony.

My experience includes providing direct services in various settings to clients of all ages, genders, sexual orientations, including clients from Southeast Asian populations and other cultural linguistic and ethnic groups. I have worked with individuals who are diagnosed with co-occurring disorders, including but not limited to numerous levels of trauma, chemical dependency, medical health conditions, and other psychiatric diagnoses. Additionally, I am knowledgeable of adults with severe and persistent mental illness (SPMI), especially related to trauma.
I provide a safe space that is characterized by compassion and support for each person I serve. The modalities I use are drawn from trauma-focused techniques, mindfulness practices, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). I also offer comfort to those struggling with cultural identity, anxiety, phobia, and depression. I am certified in Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), a rapid recovery psychotherapy that targets strong physical and emotional reactions to triggers.

Most importantly, my commitment is to support you to become a better vision of you, and that allows you the opportunity for growth. I have seen the significance therapy has in providing individuals and families opportunities to heal as self-identity blooms. It is my hope and joy to contribute to your life success.
